Gautam Buddha suggested the four Noble truth of life- Truth of suffering, truth of cause of suffering, truth of end of suffering and the truth of path that leads to end of suffering. Buddhism suggested that when one is born and enter in the Samsara (world of life) he will experience sufferings, pain and sadness in life. These sufferings are because of the ignorance, desire, one’s ego and ones actions.
The fourth Noble truth is focused on the path or the life style one can follow to overcome the suffering and journey towards peace. This path is consists of eight practices. They are called Eightfold Path of Buddhism.
The Eightfold Path is the eight pursuits one can follow to seek enlightenment. In these paths Buddhism focuses on the solution to cure the suffering in Samsara.
The condense essence of these Eightfold path is –
One should have right to view, that is also understanding of the suffering. The way to understand is getting education. Ignorance is the cause of suffering one should seek for knowledge to cure the pain.
The second one is right of resolve, after finding the cause of suffering one should follow good motives to resolve the suffering. To resolve one has to take an action which will help him to lead the path.
The third path is right speech, one should spread the kindness and compassion through his words and lead oneself and others to the path of peace.
The next path is right conduct – to achieve the successful life of finding peace. One should follow the lifestyle of good morals which will lead the mind to gain knowledge and help him find happiness in Samsara.
The path also emphasize on right livelihood. One should use it’s time and energy to help himself and others to lead its life. Helping each other will develop a successful society.
One should practice for right efforts. When we do actions it should be purposeful. The purpose will lead or actions towards happiness or peacefulness. The efforts will decide if one is going to be peaceful or one is going to suffer. The purpose of life is to achieve the calmness in mind and find out the balance in Samsara.
The path is suggested the right mindfulness. Mindfulness is the action or effort which is done with the knowledge. The intellectual activity is very important to find success in your actions. Success is achieving the purpose of the action. When you lead your life with mindful speech, action and conduct you will be ready to explore the last path.
The last Eightfold path of the Buddhism is right Samadhi. It is the contemplation or observance of our own self. In Samadhi one can visit inner soul or the consciousness which are responsible for our life. One can find calmness and peace in this pose. It is a restful pose in which ones mind takes over the body and find peace. It is end of suffering and beginning of peace.
